1. prepare the site by removing all vegetation in their vicinity

When installing closed circuit television one must ensure that the area is not in proximity to any other camera.

Here are some types of camera: a wall-mount, ceiling-mount, hidden surveillance camera and so forth. CCTVsystems require a specific procedure to be installed correctly. There are various installation methods depending on if they're going to be inside or outside the structure, but either way these procedures must be followed precisely for both future security and convenience purposes.

For an outdoor installation, you should use this procedure:

2. dig a trench to install the CCTV camera and power cable that will connect it to the power-source of your home. Usually, there is a ground loop in which the cable will be buried. This creates a secure underground connection between the box and its power source, but also ensures that no tree root or underground water can get close to either. Make sure your cables are buried at least 3 inches from any surface earthworks or surface equipment, such as houses/buildings, sheds or swimming pools.

3. install a ground loop, which is just a metal pipe that you bury, with an opening at the bottom and a cap on top.

4. dig a trench around the base of your home and fill it with gravel, then attach the ground loop to this trench so as to keep any water or moisture away from the cable.

5. run the camera power cable under the gravel in this trench and up to either side of your wall. You can also run it around any area you want to secure that doesn't have a wall. Dig up a hole for each power cable (in their own trenches) and fill them with stones or gravel then attach each length of power-cable to an end of each one you dug out.

6. attach the power-cable to an outside wall using a 'spade' connector.

7. run the cable from the camera to the power-source (usually your house) and then finally lay it on top of or just below the surface. Make sure you keep it away from any sources of water such as draining pipes, gutters or stairwells.

For an indoor installation, you should do this:

1. install screws (provided) into doorframes or walls and attach brackets (also provided) onto the screws with washers and other appropriate hardware included in your kit. These bolts (provided) can attach either to the outside or inside of your wall.

2. run the power-cable along beside the floor and into a slot or hole in your ceiling where you want it to be installed. You can also run it around any area you want to secure that doesn't have a wall, but because there are no walls in this room, you'll have to run it along the floor instead.

3. attach your camera by screwing in its bracket into one of these holes and running its power-cable along alongside this shelf so as to keep any water or moisture away from its power-supply box.
